“My mission: creating a work environment that fits.”

Elisabeth Dremel, Finance Passioneer @ERC

Developing an eVTOL from scratch is one thing. But for a fast-growing company like ours to be successful in the long term, it does not only need skilled engineers but also a reliable administration to make sure that the organizational processes work, that all finances are being managed on time and that the employees feel comfortable. One of these multi-talents is Elisabeth Dremel. She kindly answered a few questions about her work at ERC. Read for yourself:

Dear Elisabeth, thank you for taking the time for this interview! You support ERC in administration. How did you come to this?

I have a great passion for aviation and many years of experience in finance, administration, and salary accounting. A friend was enthusiastic about our startup ERC and recommended the position to me. And right from my first job interview, the spark was ignited. I was convinced of the project and the team from the very beginning.

We have already mentioned that you work in the background and hold things together. What exactly is your area of responsibility at ERC and what does your daily work look like?

I take care of all financial matters and am part of the feelgood-team. My main task is finance, so basically I help to keep the business going and the bills paid. Above that, I support organizing events and other treats for our team. The team spirit is very important at ERC, and so it is our job to make sure everybody feels comfortable at work. In my daily routine, most of the tasks come via mail or chat. I like to work in a team and meet with my colleagues, even if the meetings often take place online these days.

So, your expertise is in the administrational field and you have many years of professional experience. What at ERC is new to you and enhances the skills your already have?

Just last week we had a meeting where the whole team was updated about the status of the different subprojects. Especially for me as a non-technical team member, this was very exciting and encouraging. I learned a lot about aerodynamics, batteries, etc. Apart from that, I get to know many IT tools, which are essential for our project.

We are convinced we can do it, but we respect the task.

ERC’s goal is to develop something that is #BiggerThanUs. What does this mean for you specifically?

We are pursuing a project that can really change everyday life for everyone. We know the project is very challenging, but we also know that we have a very smart and ambitious team. We are convinced we can do it, but we respect the task.

Of all the assignments you had to face in the project, what was your biggest one since working at ERC?

For me, it was a great opportunity but also a big challenge to help set up a company from scratch. We had to establish all working processes and find the right tools. And obviously, we are not finished yet. 😊

We heard from the engineers that their motivation is mostly to see the eVTOL fly. What is your mission from an administrational perspective.

All of us are enthusiastic about seeing the eVTOL really fly. But my personal mission is to create a supportive work environment that fits. We are all only able to perform to our full potential and truly enjoy our work when we feel good there. To keep the system running while caring for the people who make our mission possible is what keeps me motivated.

If the well-being of the team is in your interest, that team spirit you mentioned must have a high value at ERC. Is this THE special thing about working at ERC?

Yes, we are a great team. And although my tasks are non-technical, I feel truly involved.

Other kids knew car brands, I knew airlines.

Although your tasks are non-technical, you said in the beginning of the interview that you have a great passion for aviation. How so?

This passion started when I was a child. I lived next to Munich airport and loved watching the planes. Other kids knew car brands, I knew airlines.

Do you have any way to live out this passion besides the job?

Yes! Two years ago, I joined our local aviation club and I just passed the theoretical test for my pilot’s license. And in the future, hopefully, I will be able to fly with our eVTOL. I can’t wait for that!

Congratulations Elisabeth on passing the test and thank you so much for your time!

If you too, have a passion for aviation, but are not an engineer: We look forward to receiving your initiative application as we are always looking for like-minded spirits! Have a look at our career page for further information.
