“Being with you today in the midst of all these groundbreaking inventions and aviation milestones gives me goosebumps. Do you know why? Because our progress over the last two years has proven that we at ERC can be such a milestone when it comes to the third revolution of aviation.”, says David Löbl, CEO of ERC, recalling the celebration of the company’s two-year existence.

The event was held under the motto “prepare for lift-off” and took place in the beautiful and inspiring location of the Deutsches Museum Flugwerft Schleißheim. The entire team attended, got a museum tour, had a wonderful paper plane race, and was treated to a fantastic dinner. The highlight of the evening, however, was the presentations given by four responsible colleagues who shared their achievements in their areas of responsibility over the past two years. “Their speeches were motivating, interesting, and also entertaining. It was inspiring to be shown our prototypes’ continuous development, our huge learning curve and realize how well-prepared we are for the upcoming launch. I am very proud to be part of this great team,” remembers Tanja Heilmeier, Energy Lead and Battery Passioneer at ERC.

Christopher Schropp, Propulsion and Actuation Lead and Passioneer, got in his speech straight to the point and said “We have achieved great so far and we have the chance to count ourselves to Europe’s TOP eVTOL companies in the upcoming years if we continue working with that commitment and passion. We are pioneers and we are doing pioneer’s work.”

Our Propulsion Aerodynamics Passioneer Jan Arun Faust, adds in his presentation: “Today is about celebrating all the small achievements along the way, which will help us to get ready for lift-off. Of course, not everything went without setbacks but what makes me extremely proud is, that none of you had any problems trying to run before learning how to walk. This was very impressive for me to see. And in my eyes, that’s what an innovation-driven company is all about.”

The fourth presenter of the evening, Philipp Reiß, our Certification Lead, looks into the future and emphasizes: “Now the day of our first flight is near and I am amazed at what we have accomplished. Coordinating a project considering commercial aviation development is our biggest project at ERC. Our process so far and your unstoppable motivation for this rather “dry topic” proves that we have built the right mindset at ERC right from the start, and this is just the beginning.”

It seems clear how proud we are all together to be an inventive part of the third aviation revolution. And it’s getting more serious now, as we long for the first flight of our eVTOL– a little more every day. Exciting times lie ahead!
