About the role

At ERC, we understand that bringing disruption to the aerospace industry requires a strong understanding of our future customers’ needs and priorities. We work closely with customers and strategic partners to validate use cases, shape market entry strategies, and demonstrate the real-world impact of our electrified aviation solutions through targeted engagements, product demonstrations, and industry presence.

As Business Development & Strategic Partnerships Intern (m/f/d), you will support the Commercial Team in translating strategic intent into concrete action. Working closely with the Vice President of Business Development and in collaboration with Product, Operations, and Communications, you will contribute to business development initiatives and partnership activities. Your role combines hands-on support with analytical work, providing exposure to strategic decision-making, partner collaboration, and market-facing activities at the intersection of technology and commercial execution.

What you will do

What you’ll do in your day-to-day:

  • Support the Vice President of Business Development in refining the business development strategy, including market research, competitor analysis, and strategic opportunity assessments across priority segments.
  • Prepare briefings, presentations, and decision memos for internal strategy discussions, customer meetings, and partner engagements.
  • Assist in the preparation and follow-up of customer engagements and ongoing collaboration projects with strategic partners, including basic project tracking and coordination support.
  • Support the planning and execution of product demonstrations, trade fairs, and industry events in close coordination with relevant teams.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of market-facing assets such as pitch decks, demo narratives, and use-case descriptions.
  • Maintain structured overviews of leads, partners, collaboration projects, events, and ongoing Business Development activities.
  • Provide occasional support for market communications, including social media updates and light content creation, as a secondary responsibility.

what you bring

  • You are currently studying towards a degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or similar at a top-tier university, ideally at the end of your bachelor’s degree or currently studying towards your master’s.
  • You have gained first experience through projects or internships in consulting, strategy departments, high-growth startups, or in similarly fast-paced environments.
  • You have first experience or a strong, demonstrable interest in fields such as aerospace, defense, or deep tech.
  • You are a communicative team player with an analytical mindset, solid organization skills and a bias towards execution.
  • You pair strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with excellent practical MS Office skills.
  • Fluency in English is a must, working proficiency in German is a plus.
  • Your citizenship or visa status allows you to work legally in Germany.
  • You are available for a minimum of 3 months (full-time).

What we offer

  • Full-scale aerospace engineering — not concept slides.
  • A 60+ engineer team at Ottobrunn, backed by IABG and developed alongside TUM and DRF Luftrettung.
  • Competitive compensation.
