About the role

We are looking for a passionate Flight Control Automation Engineer to join our young and growing team. In this role, you will focus on the design and development of robust and reliable flight control automation algorithms. Your contributions will directly impact the performance, safety, and efficiency of our cutting-edge aviation platform. You will play a key role in defining and implementing software for management of different flight control modes in all flight phases of a VTOL transition aircraft. You will also be supporting development of toolchains for classical linear stability and robustness verification of the Flight Control algorithms. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with industry standards, including DO-178C and DO-331, throughout the design lifecycle.

What you will do

  • Design and implement mode management logic governing switching and reconfiguration between multiple flight control laws.
  • Define, develop, and implement transition flight-phase procedures, including control mode logic, effector automation strategies, and pilot inceptor interpretation.
  • Develop and validate algorithms for waypoint-based trajectory generation and guidance laws.
  • Support the development of automated toolchains for stability, robustness, and performance verification of flight control laws.
  • Implement design models in MATLAB/Simulink, adhering to industry standards for model-based development, including DO-178C and DO-331.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of design activities and their results, including operating procedures for design toolchains, and any identified issues. Contribute to the creation of comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, tools, and techniques related to flight control strategies. Propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
