About the role
As UAV/Drone Test Pilot, your mission is to safely and reliably operate our VTOL-capable UAS and expand their flight envelope, from first flights to fully automated operations. You act as pilot-in-command, leading flight test execution for VLOS and BVLOS operations, and ensuring every flight campaign is conducted with maximum safety, discipline, and performance.
What you will do
- Complete training program (theoretical and practical modules)
- Support the planning, organization, and execution of ground and flight test activities
- Conduct UAV flight tests as Remote Pilot in Command in: Open category operations (<25 kg); Specific category operations within a multi-crew environment
- Safely operate prototype unmanned aircraft using handheld remote and ground control systems
- Conduct flight simulations for analysis and test preparation purposes
- Provide structured feedback to flight test engineers on aircraft performance and handling
- Support the development and continuous improvement of operational procedures, crew training and flight test processes.
what you bring
- Proven hands-on experience as a UAV/drone pilot, preferably with model aircraft (fixed-wing and/or multi-rotor)
- Demonstrated ability to operate aircraft manually with low levels of automation, maintaining precise control under visual line of sight (VLOS) conditions (no FPV)
- Flexibility and willingness to travel for flight tests and demonstration activities
- Successful completion of an aptitude assessment during the recruitment process
- Strong safety awareness, reliability, and ability to work in a team
- Good English skills
Nice to have:
- Ongoing or completed degree in aerospace engineering or a comparable technical field (or relevant vocational training)
- Valid EU drone competency certificate
- Experience in flight testing or structured operational environments
